Parents: No more writing out absentee notes for your kids!

St. Augustine School now provides an email link where you can send notes about the details of your child's absenteeism from school. Just click the icon above to send the mail to the school office.

Include your child's name, your name, the date and the reason for the absenteeism. Hit "send" and you're done!

The link will be permanently placed above in the "links" section of this page.

The parish received news last Friday night that the Archdiocese of Vancouver has given its approval in principle to our application for a new school at St. Augustine's.

This is the next in a series of approvals that will be required before ground is broken on our project. The parish will now be able to commission architects to prepare detailed drawings and to begin the process of engaging the City of Vancouver as we seek development and building permits. The Archdiocese was very complimentary of the thoroughness and quality of our application.

Thank you for all that you and many others have done to get us this far.  

We’ve just returned from four amazing days at Camp Jubilee, where 130 of us enjoyed all that camp offers. Over the course of the past week, 108 Intermediate students, 13 Grade 10 and 11 counsellors (all alumni students of our school), 8 staff members and one parent-Doctor shared what has become our Annual Camp time together. In mixed-grade cabins, students enjoyed getting to know one another, shared in activity groups with yet another set of students, thrived on yummy meals prepared by the Camp Staff, had 3 days of sun and only one of rain, and all in all, enjoyed so much fun. We sang, had skits, shared in an outdoor campfire time with the Jubilee Staff, shared in evening prayer as grade groups, played on the outdoor fields, threw rocks in the ocean, told stories, and laughed till we almost cried at skit night.

On behalf of our school community, we thank our students for being such great campers, our staff for their generosity of time, for their families for doing extra home-duty We thank each of our parents for their financial support of this highly valued programme and Dr. Namazi for her all the service and support that she provides by her presence with us during Camp. To all the parents who drove us to the Cove or home, to the staff at Camp Jubilee for their tremendous leadership and accommodations for our large group – THANK YOU.

We’re sure that this weekend will be remembered. There will be lots of stories shared at home – and we look forward to offering this amazing programme again next year!

This past weekend, our Parish community celebrated its 11th
Pass the Torch dinner, auction and dance and it was a wonderful evening. Events such as this however, have so many stories of generosity, determination, dedication and good will behind them and we want to be sure to honour everyone who contributed in any way to the event’s success.

Therefore, our warmest thanks and blessings to:

  1. The Leadership Team of PTT for their year of work leading up
    to and including the event

  2. All the Parent and Parish volunteers, before, during and after
    the event

  3. Those who donated anything to the auction:  items, gift certificates, services, projects

  4. Those who worked behind the scenes to creates such a
    beautiful event

  5. Those who gave of their time during Camp week to help
    prepare items and decorations

  6. Those who attended the event as our guests and participated
    in the auction, raffles, draws

  7. Our Alumni students who were our servers, and those who directed them

Thank you from the Pass the Torch Committee

Last weekend's Pass the Torch Dinner and Auction was an evening to remember! The Committee wishes to thank all those who donated to the event, bought raffle tickets, volunteered, and/or attended. It was a great community effort in support of our new school. While the accounting is not yet complete, it is estimated that over $75,000 was raised. The generosity and commitment to the new school project is truly amazing. As a Committee we feel blessed to be part St. Augustine's community and are grateful for all the support. Thank you!
