The Grade Five class hosted a beautiful and solemn school assembly for Remembrance Day and the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War I. With each student doing his/her part, an atmosphere of reverence and respect was present in the room and felt by the entire community. We were blessed to have one of our very own parents, Captain Marte Rosales of the Canadian Armed Forces, with us to speak of the significance of Remembrance Day and shared his experiences in peacekeeping with the Armed Forces.

The school heard a brief history of the World Wars and the recital of In Flanders Fields by John McRae, and the choir sang Where Have All the Flowers Gone. Those assembled observed a minute of prayerful and contemplative silence, and a message of peace was conveyed through song and prayer. Mr. Arntzen and our school choir provided the musical accompaniment for the assembly.

Thank you to the parents who were able to attend. Lest We Forget.
